Freedom Boat Club – the world’s largest members-only boat club – was founded in 1989 in Sarasota, Florida. Today the Clubs 400+ locations welcomes hundreds of members to its docks each day to enjoy a day on the water while we take care of the rest including fueling, cleaning, maintenance, and more.
The Philippines is situated amongst 7641 beautiful and pristine Islands. The Filipinos are seafarers and mariners. They have learned to live and survive along the coastal waters of the Philippines
The Philippines is a Republic in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. It is made of an archipelago. Much the same as Indonesia, a country which comprises of so many islands in a tropical geographic location is going to have some incredible coastline. The total length of the coastline is 36,289 km. The Philippine coastline is irregular, with numerous bays, gulfs, and islets. Manila Bay, a sheltered harbor, is the country’s busiest commercial hub. About 60 percent of Philippine municipalities and cities are coastal, with 10 of the largest cities located along the coast.
Surrounded by water the Philippines coast is surrounded by a number of Asian countries, to the north across the Luzon Strait, Taiwan. West across the South China Sea is Vietnam. To the southwest across the Sulu Sea lies Borneo and to the south you have the Celebes Sea separating it from the Indonesian islands of Sulawesi and the Moluccas.
A huge portion of Filipinos rely on the sea for their livelihood and the Philippines coast is the place to be for that! Due to the vast amount of Islands that make up the Philippines the Filipino people are never far away from the sea and the Philippines coast. Many live on the coast and work in the fishing trade although fishing nowadays is not what it used to be, stocks have been greatly depleted and most struggle to make a living this way.
The Philippines is divided roughly into three main geographical regions Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. With a population of over 120 million people, the Philippines enjoys providing service to over 50 million domestic tourists and 7 million foreign tourists. 10% of this population you would consider in the upper class, a growing middle class of about 40% of the population servicing major corporations and industries, in white collar and blue collar jobs and majority of the Filipinos are service providers, laborers, farmers, and fisher folks.
The Philippine economy posted a 6.1% growth in the fourth quarter of 2018, driven by the Services sector which posted the highest share to GDP of 56.2%, followed by Industry (34.8%), and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing (8.9%).
Among the major economic sectors in the fourth quarter of 2018, Industry grew the fastest at 6.9%, mainly attributed to Construction sector which expanded by 21.3%. The Service sector came in next with 6.3%, while the Agriculture sector grew by 1.7%.
We would love to see establishing of mini public docs for local tourist day use access all over our Philippine Coastline. Development of mini dampa all over the country. What our country does best, enjoying the cultural delicacies and the service of our people. The benefits to fisher folks and local indigenous artifacts can be endless, uplifting our Filipino Culture. Gotta think out of the box and deliver a stronger prospect for the the Filipinos. Let alone 40,000 worldwide membership base who would want reciprocal access to our local clubs, all benefiting accommodation and other commerce created for our country . I can go on in the creativity of this beautiful opportunity for our motherland Filipinas.
What "One Brunswick" brings to the table thru Freedom Boat Club will truly be a "fully integrated marine culture and organization". That's exciting and as an entry point to would be water enthusiasts, bringing the reality of boating lifestyle thru the boat club is the economical path, eventually leading each individual an opportunity to progress the lifestyle, continuing on as a happy member, or deciding that boat ownership, is the next step, the capacity to be all encompassing to the costumer base defines it all, brand new boats, used boats, parts and accessories, new technologies, service...this is defining the industry and it is exciting! This all encompassing corporate structure provides greater access to servicing the needs of a growing tourism market. In the Philippines, it is a market barely accessed because it has been so segmented and antiquated, and the organization we intend to introduce here in the Philippines can truly deliver "Hassle Free Boating - Freedom Filipinas"!
Freedom Boat Club Philippines has a nice ring. It's ripe, it is aligned with the strategic plans of Brunswick growth expansion. It enters a market unserved by FBC, untapped by the Brunswick Brands, which has been recently penetrated by competitor Carefree Boat Club. Competition is always healthy, but to be one with the leader of the industry allows for an opportunity to be forward looking and execute on growth initiatives! This is the opportunity we seek!
What we bring to the table is expertise in the boat club industry with first hand knowledge of know how, capacity and a network of resources we can pour into the venture and together with our local knowledge and an intimate breadth of network, which in Asia, more specifically the Philippines, can make or break your venture. The flexibility to engage in new market and opportunity will help build and achieve the Brunswick vision of its future in delivering a Pioneer concept of bringing the Philippine Archepelago to its people hassle free.
Our objective is to introduce FBC in Asia by showcasing what Brunswick is truly all about. Lead the way. Make it seamless. Boating made easy. The Philippines with its 7641 islands, there couldn't be a better place to find the fondness of water never before experienced by many. The population base of 50 million domestic tourists and 7 million foreign tourists, I can only imagine how much of those could be current FBC members looking at leveraging the benefits of the FBC membership privileges. We would be happy to serve them in the Philippines and open up the waters and make it as easy as their home club, now in new waters and many pristine virgin beaches. We know in return, our local members will enjoy the same hospitality when they now travel to the growing number of cities worldwide with Freedom Boat Club locations.
